How to publish grades

Process

  1. Update the template (once per year, per class)

    • Export students names and email from export note

    • It will be a .ods file
    • Open it and delete everything BUT:
      • Prénom
      • Nom de famille
      • Adresse de courriel
    • Add a column with the new grade.
      • BE SURE that the grade corresponds to the student
    • Save as CSV UTF8 (comma separated)
      • It will be separated with a ; ...
  2. Import the notes

    • Same menu as above but select “import”
    • Drag & Drop
    • Chose ;
    • Import (Déposer des notes)
    • Match the emails field:

    • Link the column with the grades to a new evaluation element

    • Import (Déposer des notes)

To have the note in the range 0-6: - Select “Note” - Configuration du carnet des notes - Select the element -> …

  • Change the maximal grade
  • Choose to not adapt the grade (see below)

Troubleshooting

  1. IF one (or more) student does not match:
    • check the email address: @student.hevs.ch -> @hevs.ch
    • never inscribed to the course on moodle!!
  2. If you get an error saying that a grade is greater the 100, check that your .csv file uses dots '.' (and not commas ',') for real numbers (e.g., the grade)
